Can I just say how awesome Trader Joe's is? I love going there, I
feel inspired to actually cook something instead of throwing in a
microwave dinner (which I haven't done in a long time). But that's just
me. I bought some party meatballs and tried out some butternut squash
ravioli. Both are very tasty and I would definitely buy them again. I still have some meatballs left, though.
God
has been teaching me to trust Him in all things. Actually that's been
the lesson He's been teaching me for the past year. I moved departments
recently (again) and am now settled in my new home. It was a bit
stressful, especially last week with a bit more work than I
anticipated. He taught me to do bits and pieces at a time, starting
with the things that need to get done that day. Thankfully, there were a
few things that could be put off until the next day. I was able to get
everything done that needed to be done each day and still leave on
time! That's a blessing!

Watermelon Deliciousness!
Two weeks ago, I
helped out with Graceworks. We invited a group of about 40 young women
from Crittenton who have experienced abuse or violence. We cooked
breakfast for them, played volleyball and basketball, and had a room dedicated
to facials, nails, hair. It was kinda scary, because the women were very
hardened from their experiences and expressed it with their attitudes. At
one point, several women attacked a bowl of candy. I realized that they
weren't going to eat it, but they wanted it. It was an eye opener, but
still quite intense. I don't think that I'd serve to this degree for a
while, I like serving in the background. I think that God is the only
reason that I signed up. I did it for Him, knowing that I would be
extremely uncomfortable.
This week's fruit is watermelon. I bought a small one, but there was plenty for me. I blended some of it to drink, sliced some of it for lunches, and froze the rest. Oh, it was so good! I'm going to work on improving the drink, it was delicious!
I recently started
reading Mere Christianity again. I have been wanting to read some of C.S.
Lewis' work, but I hadn't gotten around to it until this weekend. He is
such a great thinker and challenges me to think deep. It's a nice
intellectual break from the shows that recently ended.
